At the ArianeGroup Orbital Propulsion Facilities in Lampoldshausen/Germany, the GIESEPP consortium presented to the European Union and to the national agencies the preliminary design of the GIESEPP 1G configuration.
GIESEPP 1G is the solution for the electric propulsion demand of Geostationary satellite platforms. During the PDR session, the preliminary design on subsystem and equipment level including interfaces was assessed, the compliance to requirements was presented and the development plan and schedule were discussed.
With the successful 1G PDR, the GIESEPP team demonstrates to the electric propulsion community its commitment and passion towards the improvement of European competiveness in this field by significantly reducing the costs and increasing the Gridded Ion Engine systems production capacities.
